Summer of Joy - Flatbed Follies with Bindlestiff Family Cirkus (5/27 - Doyers St & 5/28 Forsyth St)
The innovative new rolling stage of the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus’ “Flatbed Follies” returns to Chinatown this Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28 with FREE public performances featuring incredible live entertainment. On Friday, at Doyers & Pell Street, live entertainment starting from 6pm to 9pm. On Saturday, at Forsyth Street (between Division & East Broadway), performances from 12pm to 6pm.

All are welcome to these shows that are fun for the entire family. Featured will be clowns, jugglers, aerial artists and live music performed on a genuine calliope. Limited number of red clown noses will be available to children attendees, as well as light snacks.

Scholarship for Chinese American High School Seniors - Application Deadline 6/1

Greater NY Chinese Dollars for Scholars scholarship for high school seniors of Chinese descent entering college in the fall. Scholarships are for students living in NY, NJ or CT with the exception of the Wonton Food scholarship which is open to students nationwide.

  1. Merit Scholarships: Four-Year Scholarships for $1,000 per year (Total is $4000) 
  2. New Immigrant Scholarships (students arriving in the US after 1/1/19): Four-Year Scholarships for $1,000 per year (Total is $4000)
  3. Need-Based Scholarships : Four-Year Scholarships for $2,500 per year (Total is $10,000)
  4. Wonton Foods Achievement Scholarships: Four-Year Scholarships $2,500 per year (Total is $10,000) for children of persons currently working in the Asian restaurant business in the US for at least one year
