Seeking Submissions for Chinatown Downtown Revitalization Initiative
In November 2021, Governor Kathy Hochul announced that Manhattan’s Chinatown had been selected to receive $20 million in investments to revitalize the neighborhood. This effort aims to capitalize on recent public and private investments in resiliency, placemaking, and neighborhood infrastructure to build and strengthen the community’s cultural anchors, increase growth and resiliency of small businesses, and improve connectivity to surrounding communities. Submissions due April 8, 2022.

Grants for Small Businesses
The National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (National ACE) is committed to elevating and celebrating AAPI-owned small businesses. National ACE is proud to partner with UPS to invest in keeping AAPI-Owned small businesses moving forward. COVID-19 has impacted small businesses across the U.S., particularly the minority small business community.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The business must be Asian American/Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian (AAPI) majority-owned (51% or more AAPI-owned).
  • The business must be based in the United States.
  • The business must currently be in operation.
  • The business operates in a maximum of three locations.
  • The business is not part of a chain or franchise.
  • Business owner(s) must be willing to be interviewed for earned-media opportunities related to this grant.

Available to the first 1,000 applicants.

The Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC) is proud to announce that it has been selected again along with 100 Black Men and Hispanic Federation as partners by Hennessy in Unfinished Business, an initiative that will dispense grants to Asian Americans, African Americans and Hispanic small businesses that apply for, and qualify, for funding.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Black, Asian, and/or Latinx small-business owner
  • Business is registered in the US and its territories as a legal entity, with a valid EIN
  • Applicants must have a physical US address (No P.O.Box)
  • Annual sales not to exceed $3 million USD
  • Total employees not to exceed 50
  • All owners at least 21 years of age
  • Have been in business for at least two years as of March 2022
  • Does not have an alcohol beverage license
  • Business is NOT a non-profit organization, smoke shop, or firearm business
  • To receive this funding, one must have a bank account that accepts electronic transfers
  • In the spirit of Hennessy’s ethos ‘Never Stop, Never Settle’, your business intends to support the community in the future

Creatives Rebuild New York Grants Program
CRNY is a three-year, $125 million investment in the financial stability of New York State artists and the organizations that employ them. CRNY will provide guaranteed income and employment opportunities for 2,700 artists whose primary residence is in New York State. These two programs will work to alleviate unemployment of artists, continue the creative work of artists in partnership with organizations and their communities, and enable artists to continue working and living in New York State under less financial strain. Submissions due March 25, 2022.
